Two Packs of Painted Wolves

from Petrichor by furiousBall

about

The lyrics came from a nature documentary that my wife was watching. The narrator said that exact phrase. I actually did research on the painted wolves, actually a species of African wild dog. I reference a few interesting tidbits about the animals: they are a pack-hunting species that will run their prey to the point of exhaustion, the females leave the pack, not the males, and they allow the youngest members of their pack to eat from a kill first.

lyrics

My sister, my sister, my sister left home
Two packs of painted wolves, my sister left us all alone

We’re gonna wear you out, we’re gonna hunt you down

The youth, the youth, the youth feed first
Two packs of painted wolves, the youth need it worse

We’re gonna wear you out, we’re gonna hunt you down
